Dear Readers,

This is a blog for all, not just Nazareth so I feel the need to say what this blog is about. We, the students and alumni of Nazareth Academy, are losing our school, our home, our Alma Mater and joining with our rival school Aquinas. Here is my view, the view of a Nazareth student. Enjoy!

One last post...

I know that not many people will see this post but I really hate that I never ended this blog. So here I am, back for one last post and I have to say it feels great to make another one!

I know that my last post ended on a bad note and I wanted to come back and clear up what has been happening. Don't worry, there is good news this time :)

I graduated from Aquinas in 2011 and went on to college. Actually no, I went on to my number one choice for college and I am breezing through with A's! I am doing great, I love college, I love my new friends and my old friends!

I'll be honest, Aquinas was NOT Nazareth, but it wasn't bad. I'm sure we all made some great friends that we never want to lose! Senior year was not what I expected. I was not expecting this to be the year where you really learn who you friends are, who is going to be there for you always, and who is going hurt you. I am happy to say that there were many happy times, and sad to say that I did lose some friends this past year that I never thought would hurt me, but they did.

But college is a time for a new start, right? I am having the most amazing time and even though I am currently on break, I honestly cannot wait to go back!

Before I end this last post, I want to do a few things. First I would like to talk about why I came back. Why I left is easy. I left because the stress of school and applying for college just built up so much I had no choice but to leave. But today, while I was helping set up another blog on blogspot, I noticed a new "Stats" tab. Well I was curious, so I went home, signed in, and clicked. What I saw almost made me cry. I had 926 page views from the USA alone. In one month I had over 200 page views. I never knew. I remember this one day back when I was writing this blog, I got SO excited when I saw that just ten people had voted on a poll I posted. I was like "I HAVE 10 READERS!!!!" :D I just never knew how people were actually reading! Thank you guys so much for spreading my blog around. It really means a lot! I love my readers so much!

Another thing I have to say before I leave is good luck to those still in high school! Also don't worry, you will LOVE college!

Also, don't forget I am always open for emails! My email is in my profile!

Well I guess that's it. Thank you to all of my readers. Sorry I left you all a long time ago. If any one does happen to see this post, pass it on to others who read my blog! This has really been fun and a great experience! And now I will say Goodbye to you all! Well, until the next Nazareth reunion... I mean, come on. Did you really think you could get rid of me that easily? ;)

I'm Back!

So sorry! It has been a crazy few weeks! This is literally my first few seconds of spare time. With all of the exams (I was very happy to hear about the snow day yesterday) and a lot of other stuff that is going on that has nothing to do with Naz or AQ (college applications, family stuff) I have almost no time to get online on the weekends! Sorry but you might have to be patient about my infrequent blogging until I can get back to a regular posting time.
So, I would like to talk about the little Naz reunion. It was so much fun! (And we got cookies!) They are even thinking of having another one, like a movie night thing. So if you are in the classes of '10, '11, '12, or '13 and couldn't make it to the last one, look out for the next one!
But seriously it was amazing to see so many of you again. I literally almost started crying at times. Can't wait to see you again!
Goodluck to everyone taking exams (I know I'll need it for my AP exam!) Hope you all do well!
And before I go, here is a little music video that WILL bring tears to your eyes. (I did not make this video all credit goes to YoungSarahFan. Also, to YoungSarahFan, it is a really amazing video I just had to share it. Thank you so much for making it.)

I would say "can this get any worse" but that would jinx me

Hey happy new year everyone! Wow. 2011. I'm graduating this year! Yes! Finally!

Well break was pretty cool. I really needed it. I mean AQ is OK but for me things seem to be getting worse recently. Like I absolutely can not wait for breaks, holidays, and most of all graduation. Today I just felt completely depressed and just did not want to be in school today. Of course that could be because it was the first day back after break and it's a Monday. Sadly I cannot tell a whole lot about what is going on at this point with out giving away who I am, but I will say that I REALLY miss the Nazareth teachers.
Also, another topic here, I cannot wait for the 17th! The classes of 2011, 2012, and 2013 are meeting at Naz! See you there!

Memories of last day

I feel like I have been sick for thirty years.
But thankfully all that is over and I am back with a memory:
So it was the very last day of Naz. We just had an amazing and fun dance concert and we were all running around on the front lawn. While I was standing there with some friends, one of last years seniors ran up to us and gave us all hugs. I don't think I will ever forget what she said. "I feel so bad for you guys! You don't get to have your awesome senior year and I feel so sad that today is the only day you will be able to see what it's like to be a Nazareth senior" (crying now) "You know it stinks that you guys never get to sing the senior song, you can't all be together next year, nothing will be the same. You can't have the senior year that you always pictured...."
We all gave her a hug after that.
Saddest day ever!

I would like to start off this blog by saying sorry to the families of Mother of Sorrows students. Here at SOS we know what you are going through. I have many friends who went to MOS and I was talking to many of them this week. When I heard that MOS was closing I couldn't help but feel bad for the students and think back to when I found out, almost one year ago now, that my school was closing.
But I would also like to say congrats to Holy Cross! You have truly set the example that with some hard work, dedication and team work, anything can be accomplished. I am very happy that you guys get your second chance.
So what does this mean for us, the students of Nazareth? I think, that it should be showing us some hope. We know we have the team work and the power to at least try to save our school, and the way I see it, all we need now is for someone to take the first step.

This is a Catholic school!?

Hey! I hope all of you are enjoying your break! I am! Sadly it's the last day.
So you remember when I wrote earlier about the "Religion classes being put to good use." Well I have noticed other parts of the school where you can hardly believe you are in a Catholic school. In English class we are now watching V for Vendetta. While it maybe a slightly entertaining movie, I highly doubt that watching a movie that depicts a Catholic priest trying to have sex with a young girl is inappropriate in this setting. For a Catholic school that is trying to teach us God's values, I feel that they have failed.
P.S: The movie has nothing to do with any thing we are learning about at the present. It was so we could take a break from reading.
